A vendre: Porte cargo arrière d'occasion pour bus split (jusque 67')
Elle est en excellent état, quelques petites traces de corrosion mais quasi pas de rouille (Import US)
Cependant il y a un coup dans le bas du panneau (redressable) et que la charnière inférieure est grippée

Ce genre de pièces devient de plus en plus rare à trouver dans cet état ... donc, ne trainer pas ...

Howere there is a little shot in the lower panel (wich is repairable) and the lower hinge is corroded

Another Judson "Old Speed" project ...

Voici les pièces d'un futur projet moteur ... un pied moulé et son kit compresseur Judson destiné à une 58' cabriolet.
le kit d'époque qui était incomplet a été finalisé avec quelques pièces reproduites actuellement.
( le filtre à air et la tringlerie entre autre ... )

A très bientôt pour la suite de ce projet intéressant ... dès qu'il sera sur l'établi dans le local moteur ...

Here are the parts of a future engine project ... a slate air engine and Judson compressor kit for a '58 convertible beetle.
This vintage kit was incomplete has been finalized with some currently reproduced parts.
(the air filter and the linkage for example ...)

1* Des isolateurs thermiques pour carburateurs Weber IDF et IDA 40, 44 et 48
ces entretoises (et leurs joints dédiés) isolent la chaleur du bloc et empêche sa conduction vers les carburateurs,
et ainsi diminuent le phénomène de Vapor Lock ( l'évaporation de l'essence dans les cuves des carbus )

2* Un thermostat d'huile extérieur d'excellente qualité "made in USA" ...
pour ceux qui ont installé un circuit d'huile extérieur avec radiateur sur leur moteur
(fini les "chinoiseries" au fonctionnement aléatoire) la platine de montage et les raccords NPT sont disponibles séparément ...

these spacers (and their dedicated joints) isolate heat from the block and prevents its conduction to the carburetors,
and thus diminish the phenomenon of Vapor Lock (evaporation of gasoline in the tanks of carbs)

for those who installed an external oil circuit with radiator in their engine
(no more "made in china" random working) the mounting plate and NPT fittings are available separately ...

dont la fenêtre est placée en haut à gauche de cette page ... (placé, testé et approuvé by Teddy)

Le phosphatage lui permettre d'attendre la suite des travaux tout en évitant de voir réapparaitre la rouille de surface ...

Les 12 et 13 MAI prochains, le staff PAT et Le BO$$ ont le plaisir de vous annoncer le premier "PAT SWAP":
Une bourse de pièces d'occasion et vente de véhicules Vw et Porsche "aircooled".
Cet évenement est entièrement GRATUIT, aussi bien pour les exposants que pour les visiteurs !!!
Pour les premiers inscrits, cinquante places seront disponibles dans le batiment et de nombreuses places seront également prévues à l'extérieur.

Le site sera ouvert au public les SAMEDI et DIMANCHE de 09H00 A 18H00.
Ne seront autorisées à la vente que les pièces VINTAGE et RACING d'occasion ou N.O.S. pour VW et PORSCHE aircooled.

C’est l'occasion pour vous de faire un peu d'ordre das le fond de votre garage et de venir exposer les trésors dont vous voulez vous séparer.

Certains d'entre vous l'avaient peut être remarqués ?
C'était pourtant involontaire mais ce blog était à l'arrêt depuis plus d'une semaine ...
Le préposé au blog (moi) était retenu contre sa volonté sur un lit d'hopital pour quelques soucis sanguins ...
L'affaire a été détectée à temps donc je n'en suis pas mort ("Oh ... ça c'est domage" diront certains ... )
mais me voilà au repos forcé à la maison pour une bonne partie du mois de février

Je vous demanderais donc toute votre indulgence ... cela risque de ralentir un peu ici ...
car la personne qui me remplace pour les photos n'est pas très vaillant et très occupé (PAT ... je présume)
Quand à moi, je vais essayer de vous raconter cela du mieux que je peux ... de chez moi ... (vive le HomeWorking)

La pointe du V de la face avant (qui avait été coupé pour permettre le pointage correct de la jupe avant) est ressoudé en place ...
suivi par la tôle de réparation inférieure de face ...

The tip of the V on the front panel (that had been cut to allow the perfect soldering of the lower skin) is soldered in place
followed by the front panel repair ...

21 windows ... price ...

Oui voilà, le prix des 21 fenêtres restaurés semble être un peu revu à la baisse en 2012 ...
Celui ci termine à 47.700 euro (61.600 $US) ...

Pour rappel, le 23 fenêtres avait terminé à 152.000 euro (217.800 $US) en septembre 2011
et un 21 fenêtres s'étais adjugé à 58.000 euro (78.975 $US) en novembre 2010

Bon ... mais cela reste malgré tout un excellent placement ... Non ?

Yes, the price of the restored 21 windows bus seems to be somewhat lowered in 2012 ...
This one ending at 47.700 euro (61.600 US$)

As a reminder, the last 23 windows bus had ended at 152.000 euro (217.800 $US)
and a 21 windows were awarded 58.000 euro (78.975 $US) in november 2010

Well ... but this is still an excellent investment ... No ?

Découpe des éléments de la face qui étaient rouillés, on continue ensuite avec les soudures du renfort de face et de la jupe.

Green Oval 2.3L, the gearbox ...

Nous voilà maintenant à l'étape suivante de ce moteur 2.3L destiné à une ovale avec l'arrivée de la boite KCR.
Une "Ultra Street" renforcée, arbres de roues renforcés, 4 vitesses ré-étagées, super Diff et Heavy duty side plates.
le tout est assemblé avec des planétaires "17 Dents" VW neufs (disponibles chez PAT ... )

La suite ... lors d'un prochain post ... avec le montage des freins "qui vont bien" ...

We are now in the next stage of the 2.300cc engine for an oval with the arrival of the KCR gearbox
An "Ultra Street" gusseted, reinforced axle shafts, 4 speed re-staged, Super Diff' and Heavy duty side plates.
All is assembled with brand new VW "17 theeth" axle ends gears (available from PAT)

More ... in a future post ... with the instalation of the "quality" Disc brake kit ...

A méditer, part 2 ...

On est pas assez riche pour se permettre d'acheter "pas cher" !

Suite du sauvetage de cette cox de 71', Quelques exemples du travail réalisé "ailleur" !

1er exemple avec le "super adaptateur" réalisé avec un morceau de tube coupé de biais ...
(probablement pour placer un kit disque arrière prévu pour une voie étroite, qui devait être de stock ?)
1* le tube utilisé n'a évidement pas le bon diamètre intérieur et flotte sur l'arbre de roue ...
2* il est coupé de biais ... idéal pour un bon appui de l'écrou de fixation ...
Placeriez-vous vos freins arrière comme cela ?
Mais surtout, les placeriez-vous comme cela sur la voiture d'un client ?

Le 2ème exemple est moins parlant visuellement (en photo) avec le train avant raccourci, mais il est bien réel
1* Le train, une fois raccourci ... a bien évidement été ressoudé en banane ...
2* Les anciennes soudures des support centraux n'ont pas été éliminées ... les nouvelles soudures sont "douteuses" ...
3* Le trou conique au bout des lames de suspension ... est remplacé par une belle encoche faite à la disqueuse ...
histoire de gagner du temps ... un travail (probablement) vite fait, mais (réellement) mal fait !

Juste pour le plaisir, je vous rajoute quelques clichés du nouveau train avant raccourci, ressoudé et remonté ...

We can't afford to buy "cheap"!

Following of the rescue of this '71 beetle, some examples of work done "elsewhere"!

First example with the "super adapter" made with a piece of tube cut through ...
(probably made in order to install a rear disc kit intended for a short axles, which was to be in stock?)
1* The tube used have not the right inside diameter and floats on the axle shaft ...
2 * it is cut of bias ... realy not ideal for a good supports of the nut ...
Would you fit your rear brakes like that ?
More importantly, would you do it on a customer's car ?

The second example is less visual (in photo) with the shortened front beam, but is real
1 * The front beam once shortcuts ... has obviously been welded in banana shape ...
2 * The old central support welds have not been eliminated ... new welds are "pretty bad" ...
3 * The conical hole at the end of the suspension blades ... is replaced by a nice notch made with a disc grinder ...
To save time ... Quick work (probably), but (really) wrong made !

Just for fun, I added some pictures of our new shortened front beam, welded and reassembled ...

Acide Phosphorique en stock ...

Voici un nouveau produit "en stock" ...
De l'acide phosphorique, que nous proposons en conditionnement de 1L et de 5 L.
Les anciens dans le métier de la restauration connaissent certainement ce produit au pouvoir dérouillant et phosphatant ...

Simple d'usage, il suffit de badigeonner (et rincer après) les tôles nues et saines pour les recouvrir d'un voile protecteur.
Il permet aussi de dérouiller les tôles attaquées par la rouille en complétant l'action du produit avec un tampon abrasif ou une brosse
ET ne pas oublier de rincer abondamment après traitement, car le dépot laissé par le produit pur est assez difficile à enlever par après !
Voilà votre tôle débarassée de sa corrosion et protégée en attendant de pouvoir la recouvrir d'un apprêt ...

Bien que présent en très faible quantité dans les soda comme le Coca Cola et autres Pepsi ... (comme régulateur de PH),
il est vivement recommandé d'utiliser des gants et lunettes ... et de ne pas essayer d'en boire ...

For old guys in the business of restoring this product certainly know the power of this rust remover and phosphates protector ...

Easy to use, simply brush (and rinse after) the uncoated and healthy sheetmetal to cover them with a protective layer.
It can also remove rust on the metal attacked by rust supplementing the action of the product with an abrasive pad or brush
AND do not forget to rinse after treatment, because the deposit left by the pure product is quite difficult to remove afterwards ...
Here is your sheetmetal far away of its corrosion and protected until they can cover it with a primer ...

Although present in very small quantities in soft drinks such as Coca Cola and other Pepsi ... (as a regulator of PH)
it is strongly recommended to use gloves and goggles ... and not try to drink ...

Vous n'avez certainement pas échappé à la promotion que fait actuellement VW pour la sortie de sa dernière Beetle ...
mais avez vous vu ou entendu parler de la E-Bugster ?

Le concept présenté à la presse cette semaine (et au public la semaine prochaine) au NAIAS de Detroit (USA) par VW
Un véhicule entièrement électrique au look assez sympa ... 1/2 New Beetle - 1/2 Porsche Speedster
Equippé de jantes (en 20") ... qui sont optiquement assez proches des fuschs produites actuellement pour certaines nouvelles Porsche ...

Assez sympa , non ?

You certainly do not escape the VW promotion that is currently for the release of its latest Beetle ...
but have you seen or heard of the E-Bugster?

The concept presented to the press this week (and the public next week) at the NAIAS in Detroit (USA) by VW
A fully electric vehicle to look pretty cool ... Half : New Beetle - Half : Porsche Speedster
Equipped with wheels (in 20 ") ... which are optically close enough Fuchs currently produced for some of the new Porsche ...

Pretty cool, right ?

Et donc, le Phoenix Rot (L32K) de cette cabriolet de 79' n'échappe pas à cette règle!

Orange is definitely the color that best represents the period of the seventies ...
And so, the Phoenix Red (L32K) of this '79 convertible does not escape to this rule!

Autre bus, autres travaux ...
Sur ce baywindow, l'on remplace le bas de la baie de pare-brise (qui est comme trop souvent, pourrie sous le joint).

Au passage, le (vilain) support de roue de secours qui était sur la face avant est supprimé,
Histoire de rentabiliser au mieux le passage en cabine pour repeindre la face avant ...

Another bus, other work ...
On this baywindow, we replace the lower Bay of windshield (which is too often rotten under the joint).

By the way, the (ugly) spare tire carrier that was on the front panel is removed,
Story to get the most passing in the paint booth to repaint the front of this bus ...
