L'épisode 14 était consacré à la phase finale du remontage 

Donc là, il ne restait plus que quelques derniers ajustements ...
et à s'occuper de la phase administrative pour mettre cette voiture Autrichienne sur la route en Belgique
Dédouanement, passage au contrôle technique et formalités pour l'immatriculation

Voilà, c'est la fin ... là elle est prête et n'attend plus que son propriétaire pour entamer sa nouvelle vie.

Episode 14 was devoted to the final part of reassembly  

So there he remained only a few final adjustments ...

Customs clearance, through technical inspection and formalities for new registration

Douzième partie de ce projet consacré à la restauration d'une cox standard de 1970.
L'épisode 11 était consacré au nettoyage des dessous, traitement des corps et re-caissage la voiture 

Maintenant on s'occupe de l'électricité ... avec la remise en place du circuit électrique d'origine qui avait été restauré
et on poursuit avec le placement de l'insonorisant dans le compartiment moteur ... suivit de près par le moteur .

Twelfth part of this project about the restoration of a '70 Standard beetle
Episode 11 was devoted to underneath cleaning, hollow body filling and put the body on the chassis

Now we take care of the electricity ... reinstalling the original electric circuit that had been cleaned and restored
and continued with the placement of the soundproofing in the engine compartment ... followed closely by the engine.

Episode 9 was devoted to the reassembly work of the restaured mecanical parts on restaured frame

Neuvième partie de ce projet consacré à la restauration d'une cox standard de 1970.
L'épisode 8 était consacré aux dernières réparations avant le départ de la caisse en carrosserie.
Aujourd'hui, on discute châssis ... celui-ci a été sablé, métallisé et passé à l'époxy.                                              S'en est suivi un lavage en profondeur et un bon séchage afin d'éliminer le sable résiduel.

Petite aparté avec le châssis en arrière plan qui est d'un cabriolet de 59, et dont nous reprenons le projet.
Celui-là est la preuve qu'une peinture qui brille réalisée en carrosserie n'est pas signe de qualité !
Et qu'une peinture, même de qualité ... si elle est appliquée sur de la rouille ... ne tient pas !
Reprise à zéro, démontage ... et mêmes opérations que le châssis de la 70 !  

Ce travail est nécessaire si l'on veut obtenir un travail de qualité qui a une bonne tenue dans le temps !
Les pièces mécaniques (train, bras,etc ) ont été sablées et peintes en carrosserie.
La boulonnerie d'origine et les diverses pièces brutes ont été traitées et chromatées.
Quand aux pièces d'usure, elles sont remplacées par du neuf ... et là, le travail de remontage est déjà bien avancé !

Ninth part of this project about the restoration of a '70 Standard beetle
Episode 8 was devoted to the last repair work on the body before its way to the bodyshop ... 
Today it's about the floorpan ... this one has been sandblasted, metallized and powder coated.
Followed by a deep cleaning and proper drying, once back to the shop, to remove residual sand.

Detour whith the '59 convertible frame on the background, an already started project that we restart.
This one is the proof that a shinny paint is not sign of quality !
and that even a quality paint ... if applied on rust or corroded steel ... does not hold !
Restart from zero, disassembly and ... same steps as the 70' standard frame !

This work is necessary if we wants to get quality work that has longtime resistance !
The mechanical parts (front beam, suspension arms, etc.) have been sandblasted and bodywork painted.
The original bolts and various raw parts were chemically treated and chromated.
Concerning wearing parts, they are replaced by new ones ... and now, reassembly work is well on its way !

Huitième partie de ce projet consacré à la restauration d'une cox standard de 1970.
L'épisode 7 était consacré à la première partie des réparations à l'arrière ...

Au programme aujourd'hui ... suite et fin de ces "quelques" réparations à l'arrière ...
Les supports de pare-chocs arrière, jupe arrière et on termine avec les bords du fond de coffre,
Et ici aussi, les parties réparables, l'ont été ... celles qui n'était plus assez saines ont été remplacées ...

Voilà, c'est tout pour l'instant ... la tôlerie est terminée, là elle est part en carrosserie ...

Episode 7 was devoted to the first part of the repairs to the rear ...

On the menu today ...  continuation and end of those "some" repairs to the rear ...
The rear bumper supports, rear valance and the edges of the rear floor of luggage compartment ,
And here too, repairable parts, have been ... those that was not healthy enough were replaced ...

Well, that's all for now ... Sheetmetalworking is complete, there is going to body shop ...

Septième partie de ce projet consacré à la restauration d'une cox standard de 1970.
La 6ème partie était consacrée aux adaptations nécessaires pour faire correspondre les pièces à ce modèle.  

Au programme aujourd'hui ... "quelques" réparations à l'arrière ...
Les coins de caisse arrière, tôles de fixation de caisse arrière et bas de panneaux arrière ...
Les parties réparables, l'ont été ... celles qui n'était plus assez saines ont été remplacées ...

The sixth part was devoted to modifications to realize on new parts used to meets the specification of this car model

What's on today ... "some" repairs to the rear ...
Rear crossmember, rear body support and lower rear back panels ...
Repairable parts were repaired ... those that was not healthy enough were replaced ...

Sixième partie de ce projet consacré à la restauration d'une cox standard de 1970.
La 5ème partie était consacrée à l'alignement et la reconstruction du bloc avant.  

Au programme aujourd'hui ... Adaptation et modification ...
Voilà quelques photos des modifications a réaliser sur les pièces neuves placées (prévues pour des "Mexico" )
Pour qu'au final, la voiture corresponde vraiment aux spécifications d'une '70 standard
Quelques heures de main d'œuvre qui différencient une restauration d'un banal travail de remplacement de pièces !

The Fifth part was devoted to proper alignment and welding of the front end

What's on today ... Adaptation and modification ...
Here are some pictures of modifications to realize on new parts used on this car (parts planned for "Mexico" beetle)
To that end, the car really meets the specifications of a '70 "standard model"
Some hours of work that differentiate a restoration project of an ordinary parts replacement work !

Cinquième partie de ce projet consacré à la restauration d'une cox standard de 1970.
La 4ème partie était consacrée aux premières découpes et aux premiers remplacements de panneaux sur la caisse.

Au programme aujourd'hui ... encore des découpes ...
On démarre avec la tôle de fond caisse avant, qui était vraiment trop endommagé pour être réparé correctement.
Découpée, mise en place (grâce au retour momentané du châssis) puis pointée aux éléments encore présents.
Un travail rigoureux si l'on veut conserver un alignement correct de l'ensemble.   
Il nécessite le montage à blanc de la face avant, du fond de coffre et du capot.
Une fois alignés les uns aux autres, le longeron, la tôle et la contre aile sont progressivement pointées ensemble.

Fifth part of this project about the restoration of a '70 Standard beetle
The fourth part was devoted to the first cut and the first panels replacement panels on the body.

What's on today ... cutouts again ...
we start with the firewall, which was too damaged to be repaired as correctly
Cut, setting up (thanks to the momentary return of the chassis) and then spot welded to the elements still present
Rigorous work if we want to maintain proper alignment of the whole front body
it requires the blank mounting of these elements with the inner nose assembly, front apron and the hood
Once aligned together, the heather channel, the inner wheelhouse and the firewall are gradually spot welded.

Quatrième partie de ce projet consacré à la restauration d'une cox standard de 1970.
La 3ème partie était consacrée à la modification des longerons et aux découvertes après le sablage.

Au programme aujourd'hui ... découpes, plus de découvertes et remplacement ...
"Quelques" coups de disques et les 2 contre-ailes et la face avant sont enlevés ...
Vient ensuite le moment de souder les renforts internes qui permettront de travailler sans tordre la caisse.
Découpe, réparation des zones proches et remplacement du longeron droit.
Puis la mise en place et soudure d'une nouvelle contre aile droite d'origine (VW Mexico),
mais dont le remplissage d'essence (trop récent) doit être dépointé pour ensuite être remplacé par l'original de cette 70.
Voilà, c'est tout pour aujourd'hui ... la suite très prochainement ...

The third part was devoted to heather channels modification and discovery after sandblasting

What's on today ... Cuts, more discoveries and replacement ...
"A few" cutting disc later, the 2 inner wheelhouse and the front face he front is removed ...
Then comes the time to weld our internal reinforcements that will allow cuting and work without twisting the body
Cutting, repairs zones "near to" and replacement of the right heather channel 
Then the placement and soldering a new original right inner wheelhouse (VW Mexico)
But the fuel filler (newer) must then be adapted to this '70 "standard" model
